      DOES SCHOOL STIFLE YOUR
                                     CREATIVITY?

A Speech That I wrote for My  6th Grader Cousin

School is the place where we spend about 50% of the time and even when return home we talk about teachers, friends, do home work and pack the bag and go to sleep to get up on time for the next day. It means that school is HALF HOME.
We usually talk about going to market to buy colorful charts, oil pastels, crayons, activity sheet etc etc. We also come home and tell our parents about the sports week, essay writing competition, inter house declamation contest or swimming gala. What are all these?
Aren't these the activities that we do to enhance our creativity? If the answer is YES, then it means i have already won the argument. I am standing at the rostrum, delivering some thing to my fellows, expressing my views on a topic. What is this? Its a creative effort.
So who can say that school stifles the creativity? Its a very wrong impression that schools are the factories of producing book worms. I totally disagree with this. Its the motto of every school that besides covering academic course they aim to conduct number of activities which not only improve the skills of the students but also give opportunity to build creativity and enhance confidence level. Such activities are good enough to let the students learn different things and gain new experiences.
Competitions are the best source of developing creativity. As it generates the encouragement in students to  come up with new and good ideas to compete the fellows. More over the color days help developing aesthetic sense. In the memories of great national heroes and to tell the importance of historical events, the functions are conducted by which enable the students to get awareness about their past. Cultural and social performances help the students to learn about their customs, values and much more.
So my dear fellows, after presenting the wordy picture of all such activities conducted in school to enhance the creativity you can better judge that the schools are not at all the reason to interrupt the process of creativity. Rather than stifling the creativity, schools are meant to improve the skills, to build the confidence, to polish the talent and to sharpen the mind to think over creative ideas in a positive way.
