BOREDOM

It is said that "Boredom is pattern not the reality". According to me its an inner state of a person or just psychological feeling that a person says that he is bored. Boredom may may due to number of reasons:

  • Nothing to do: One can ofcourse get bored when there is not much being going on and the person is sitting idly. He looks around here and there with blank mind and keep on wondering what to do? A person has idle time and no place to utilize it. However in such a world of technology and advance usually this type of boredom rarely occur.
  • Same Routine: One of the most commonly occurring boredom is when the person is being obsessed by the same routine. Getting up at 7, then going to work, same boss, same people and then returning home shuffling channels on TV and getting into bed after dinner to get up at same 7 am. haahh... Really boring. People do need break from work.
  • Gap In Work: A man is never satisfied. He complaints for being fed up from a work routine but at the same time when he is asked to take a break from work and take go on leave, at first the person plans vacation at some hill station or at a beach but after spending a week over there, he starts missing his pals and his work and gets bored of the gap in work.
  • Undesired Task: It is not necessary that a person can't get bored when he is busy. Some times your boss gives you a 5 hours assignment and you feel your self so stuck in it that you even excuse your next desk co-worker to go to cafe for coffee. But it doesn't always mean that you are working on it with interest. It still sounds boring to you but you have me the boss's line.
  • Forced Get together: Your friend insists you to go on a wedding with you at his or her neighbourhood and you do not even know a single person. Will it be an amazing idea to attend that? No way it is a good idea to welcome boredom only.
Boredom is very common these days. Specially in youth. But it is said, ' the cure to boredom is curiosity and curiosity has no cure." it is also said" The secret of boredom is to tell everything.'

Has India failed its sailors?

Companions Of Short Journey

Departing after one month's internship, or saying good bye after working on a joint venture project, exchanging numbers and e-mail IDs after 3 months summer course or taking memories of your next seat passenger after your plane lands at the destination after 5 hours flight. Such companies are always beautiful but short. And always leave some pieces of memories in your mind.
Even I myself had never forgotten the companions of journey. Mustansar Hussain Tarar says that one thing good about the companions of journey is that before we know about their bad habits, they depart.May be thats why they are said to be beautiful.
But sometimes we get so attached with those companions that it gets hard to say them good-bye. But of course we have to. And sometimes even, we expect them not to leave but they give up and walk away. Its not  like they depart because they had been facing problems in the journey, its because they had to. But they do leave their memories forever,
Good friends stand on the concrete and make their foot prints strong at one place. But those who walk away put their foot steps as long as the concrete road does't end. We miss them but can't tell. Cause they are happy in their own world. They have their own social circles. But its not like if we miss them we have to show it all time, or we have to keep regrets.
The best way is to remember the good times that they once gave you being a precious gem of your life. You might have once been so dependent upon them that you would have wondered how the day could be without them. But then you see, day becomes days, then weeks then months and this is how it goes. And it really goes. Though seems too difficult but still you learn to manage. It may happen that your eyes get filled with tears at many moments but by the end of the day you realize that its you who have to manage after all.
And the most amazing thing, at some moments in life you even get interacted with them but face them in a strange way even more than a stranger. But do not think that they never cared after walking away. Even they miss you sometimes, specially when they think of how the things used to happen once. But they had to leave. You know why?
Because they are the companions of short journey.

MIGRATION OF BIRDS

The moevment of the birds over the large distance in response to weather, change in food or habitat is migration. Approximately 1800 of the world's 10,000 birds species tend to migrate over long distance. Those who do not migrate are called residents or sedentary.

PATTERN:
Seasonal migration:
Usaually birds migrate along the flyway, commonly towards north in the spring to breed in the temperate summer and then returning then to the south in the autumn to prevent themselves from the extreme summer. But when the days of the autumn reduce in length, they fly back to the warmer regions. Where the food supply varies a little with the season.

Leap-Frog Migration:
The birds may partially migrate too. Some species partially migrate from high to low latitudes in winter. Such as, 44% non-paserine and 32% paserine in Australia. The migration from high to low altitude is an example of leap-frog migration.

Chain Migration:
Some birds show migration in which they travel from north to south but do not reverse.

Gender Difference:
The migration pattern may be on sex basis. For example, female Chaffincnes migrate while males are residents.

Fly Way Pattern:
Usually the pattern is fly way with one bird leading. The route is usually followed with the help of mountains , coast lines and rivers. The direction of the wind, however is more helpful when there are giant oceans and vast seas.
Birds usually follow one route to proceed and the other one to return. In North America the birds follow clock wise migration pattern, in which birds going to North shift to West and those flying South tend to shift Eastwards.

Flocks:
Not most, but many birds fly in groups called flocks, which reduces energy cost for large birds. Such as Geese flying in flock save 12-20% energy, they utilize flying alone. On average, the birds fly in range of 150-600 meter (500-2000feet) altitude during migration. But skeletons of Pintail and Black species of a bird have been found at 5000 meter (16,400 feet) on Khumbu Glaciers (Mount Everest) and Bar headed Geese have been seen flying above 8000 meter (29000 feet) in Himalayas.

Flightless Birds Migration:
From large cranes, birds of prey to little humming bird, almost every kind of birds migrate. Even flightless birds migrate. Emus move from breeding site to rainy site in dry weather. Penguins migrate to oceans. Auk babies migrate by swimming until they can fly. Sea guls during non-breeding time moves in whole ocean for seasonal food abundance.

Longest Migration:
In summer it breeds in Arctic North and then move to South for spending winter on Antartic ice pack. The shortest distance between two poles is 15000 km. But birds usually travel circuitous routes taking 30,000 to 40,000 km round trip.

ORIENTATION AND NAVIGATION:
Birds use their senses for nevigation. Most of them use sun as compass. The navigation may also be based on abilities, such as ability to detect magnetic field, use visual land marks or olfactory cues. The older individuals even  use correlation of wind drift.
Migratory birds use two forms electromagnetic tools to find and reach their destination, one is innate and while other is due to experience. When the birds are young they migrate correct by following the direction of Earth's magnetic field but they are unwared about how far their destination is. This happens by radical pair mechanism due to chamical reaction in photo pigments sensation to long wave length. It is as simples as a boyscout with a compass but no map, but with age the birds gain experinece and they can landmark and do mapping by magnetities in trigeminal system, which indicates about strength of magnitude at different latitudes while going from North to South and let the bird reach the destination.
Research has shown that there is a neural connection between eyes and cluster N (a part of forebrain) which stays activated during migration orientation which helps birds to actually see the magnetic field of Earth.
A study at Max Plank Institute for Ornithology and Radolfzell and their collegues at university of Priceton, Pisa and Copenhagen have found that birds use odour (smell cues) as nevigation and they are more important than sun and electro magnetic field.

COELACANTHS, One Of The Oldest Living Specie Of Fish

Coelacanths  (Pronounced as See-la-kanth) belongs to sub-class Actinistia, and class Sarcoptergii, which is believed to be the oldest fish of phylum Chordata.Latimeria chalumnae and L. menadoensis  are two known living species of Coelacanths. These are large plum like fish which can grow up to 1.8 meter. It is one of the world's oldest living species of fish.
At first it was thought that Coelacanths had been extinct about 65 million years ago but they were rediscovered in the parts of western Indian Ocean and Western Pacific Ocean. Its not known that whether the populations found in the two oceans are interconnected or not. People kept on catching them but since how long, no one knows.
Coelacanths live about 525 to 650 feet deep into water so sending divers for search was impossible, so the coverage was taken with the help of digital devices.
Coelacanths could be easily distinguished from other fish because of the presence of white marks on their sides of body. One thing is a mystery that how baby or young Coelacanths would look like? Because in the population of about 300 to 400 fish, none was found young. The birth and death rate of Coelacanths is quit slow. Every year almost 3 to 4 individuals die and 3 to 4 come in world. This is only 4.4 percent of their total population.
The age of fish is determined by the age rings on their scales but its very hard to determine the exact age of Coelacanths because the rings do not seem to grow with age.

Fairy Tale Stories Have Even More Than Finding A Handsome Suitor

Since childhood we keep on listening the stories from fantasy world and we grow up watching fairy tales with a young girl who finally gets a winsome prince and living her whole life happily ever after in a castle. But these stories with "Happy Ever After" endings have some thing ever more than getting a handsome suitor. One thing good in all these fairy-tale stories is that they depict a strong and optimistic picture of a women who despite of so many unfavourable circumstances, have courage to with stand all the stressful circumstances. All stories give us lesson to be strong in life, no matter how hard the situation may seem.
CINDERELLA: Cinderella lived her whole life under the pressure and injustice behaviour of her step mother and sisters but still she had a ray of hope. Though she cried many times in the story but still there was something that became the reason of her being happy even serving her step family. It shows her greatness and curteous behaviour towards those who had never been good to her. Cinderella never thought of getting a prince, she never desired to live in a castle but still as a reward of her patience and as a fruit of her obedience, she became princess one day.

BELLE: Falling in love with a beast is what Belle did. She could have never thought she would get such a charming suitor. She left her house in search of her father and met a beast who had never been polite to anyone. He never knew how to talk generoulsy and how to live among people. He loved being isolated but some one came to his life, touched his heart with politensess and made him gorgeous. This story has two lessons. One that a good conduct, careful handling and polite attitude can change the person's behaviour towards others. If some one is treated as he is, he will remain as he is. But if someone is treated on what he could be, he will become what he could be. The second lesson we get is that appearance matters least. Belle was a beautiful women but still she made a choice to live with a spelled beast. Though with her good conduct, she changed the inside of the rude beast, soft. By the end of the story she was rewarded when the beast's spell broke and he turned into charming man.

ARIEL: A girl living under water always wishing to become a human being, to feel how people walk on feet. She had a desire to experience legs and for that she was passionate enough to pay any price. The spirit and utmost desire to become part of human's world was before she met Eric. So she struggled hard to achieve what she dreamt of. And finally her dream came true when she got the legs, and she could walk and run freely under the sky. The persistant efforts and emotional spirit gave her opportunity to become a human from a mermaid and her love for humans gave her Eric, a man not a merman.

JASMINE: Saultan used to Jasmine, " The law says you must be married to a prince" and she always argued that the law was wrong. Aladin was a poor street rat but Jasmine never looked at his status. She made a choice of a street rat because she understood that Aladin was rich from the inside. She chose not a fragile prince but a brave, quick and intellegent street guy. She saw roughness and toughness in him insted of how many horses he owned or how much expensive fabrics he wore.

SNOW WHITE: A girl who lived with seven dawarfs and had problem with none of them. The dawarfs in the story represents seven different natures of men. Snow white had enough talent to deal all of them according to his own natuer. She was sensible enough to understand the nature of those people and get adjusted in no time with all of them. And finally a boy came on horse and took her away.

POCAHONTAS: Pocahontas did not want to marry Coco Haum So she decided not to choose smoothest core. Pocahontas is a girl who stood in the way of the English diggers and saved the soil for black people. She openly took stand against the discrimination and strived for the rights of her villagers. She met Smith, one of the English men and changed his perceptions and believes. She was though not the son of the Chief but she was a daughter stronger than the sons. The tree always told her, "Listen with your heart, you will understand"

MAULAN: Maulan is a story about the gender discrimination. Its about the society where the men are considered superior. But Maulan proved that women have equal leading potential like men. Maulan not only became the arm of her father but also saved the kingdom ship from coming under the rule of the enemies. At first she had to pretend to be a man because she was a part of society where women were considered a worthless creature but later she came up as a women, the whole nation felt proud of. She always used to say, "Your duty is to your heart". Finally the guy who disliked her after knowing that he was having a girl in his army, fell in love with her.

Every girl has a dream to get a suitor who makes her life happy go lucky and this is the beauty of the fairy tale stories that they make us dream of a prince who would fight against all odds and will come on a horse or a magic carpet and take us to a place where there is only love and peace. All girls wish for brave knights. Ever girls dreams like Ariel, "Just you and me, Some day I'll be, Part of your world" but these stories also teach us some basic practical key points or core values to live life patiently, calmly, generously and with strong determinations.

CORONAL MASS EJECTION

What Is CME?
Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is a burst of solar wind, magnetic field or light isotope plasma above the solar corona or being released in space. The frequency of CME depends on solar maxima or minima. 1 CME every 5 days in a minima and 3 CME a day in solar maxima.

Composition:
Coronal Mass Ejection comprises of plasma containing protons and electrons or some times heavy elements like Helium, Oxygen and Iron.

Causes:
The solar flare or CME is caused by magnetic reconnection. When the magnetic fields that are oppositely directed come close to each other, it causes the release of energy stored in the fields. On sun the magnetic re connections occur due to solar arcades, which are closely occurring loops of magnetic lines of forces. The release of energy causes the solar flare which may eject unconnected magnetic helical fields and material outward as CME.

Impact On Earth:
The solar flares cause impact on magnetosphere, disruption in transmission and it also affects human beings.
CME reaches earth as ICME ( Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejection)  causing geomagnetic storm  which disrupts the magnetosphere of the earth by compressing it to the day side and extending the magnetic tail to the night side. Again when the magnetosphere reconnects to the night side, it causes release of the power at tera-watt scale which goes to the Earth's upper sphere.
CME process causes strong auroras around the magnetic poles of the earth. Aurora is a natural light display in the sky caused by the collision of the charged particles directed by the Earth's magnetic field. They are seen in the sky at night but are often invisible.
CME causes disruption in radio transmission, damage satellites and electric transmission lines and may also cause long lasting power break down. Humans at high altitude, such as air planes may be exposed to strong and intense radiations, which may cause skin irritation and even skin cancer.

Solar Flare Of June 07:
As stated by the scientists the solar flare seen on June 07 was a mushroom of cooled plasma that ejected largets amount of of material in space ever seen. The material lofted up and fell back on sun's roughly half a surface. This caused CME into space.

Astrophysicist Phillip Chamberlin of NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) who recorded the event said,
" This totally caught us by surprise There wasn't going much with the spot, but as it came from behind the sun, all of a sudden there was a huge ejection of particles. We'v never seen a CME this enormous."
Chamberlin  stated further that it would take time to calculate the energy and the mass of electrons and protons taht had been ejected by that blare in the space, but he observed its volume to be hundreds of time bigger than the Earth. In past year space Observatories recorded about 70 such flares which were 10 times weaker than the extreme flares.

DENMARK REALITY

These are the civilized people of Denmark, who enjoy blood showering of human friendly creature "dolphins". This is an old custom in Denmark that they celebrate "Dolphin Killing Festival" to show that they have entered the adulthood. And even in this era of science and technology when the people are putting their efforts to save the animal species from extinction, the people of Denmark are stuck to such brutal traditions.
The dolphins are are cut cruelly at various places by sharp objects like hook etc.. But the media is silent on such inhumane behaviour. Where is the Green Peace to stop such violence to such innocent dolphins? These barbarians are the part of EU and call themselves civilized. Has anyone attempted to stop this brutality of the savages? Every year the sea cries in blood and hundreds of dolphins are slaughtered to enjoy the beginning of the adulthood by boys of Denmark. This is very shameful and and violent and the matter must be taken in consideration with iron hand to stop this act of inhumaneness.
